What are some examples of available markets?

Beef Jerky Outlet Franchises are legal in all states, excluding Hawaii. We are not selling internationally currently. You will work closely with our development team to find the right market and location.

How long is the franchise agreement?

We offer a 5 year franchise agreement with three 5 year renewals.

How large is the jerky industry?

At $2.8 billion in sales, meat snacks are segmented into the jerky and meat stick category, each of which contributes to about half of total sales.

Where is the best location for a Beef Jerky Experience store?

The best location for a Beef Jerky Experience store is in a high tourism area or a part of a gas station in a high tourism area. We thrive on tourism!

Will I need to attend a Discovery Day to purchase a store?

Yes, we do require every candidate to attend a Discovery Day. You will meet with some of our team for a presentation.
This is a great time for our team to answer any of your questions in an intimate setting.

Operations

How long does it take to open a store?

Location! Location! Location! Finding the right location and leasing a site, on average, takes 6 months. It can however take as little as 3 months and sometimes can take up to 12 months. Once you have a lease, opening your Beef Jerky Experience, including buildout and stocking usually takes 8-12 weeks.

Do I need to have retail experience before opening a store?

No retail experience is needed or required. However, we are looking for self-motivated, ambitious partners that will dedicate time learning the daily tasks involved with running a Beef Jerky Experience store.

How many employees will I need to run a store?

Each location will require a different number of staff. You will discuss the right number of staff for your location with your Store Coordinator. (i.e., Some stores run 2-4 teammates per week.)

What kind of support will I receive from the Home Office once I am in the system?

We pride ourselves on our Beef Jerky Experience Franchise support team and resources. You will have full access to all our staff, including several dedicated field team members, a library of completed marketing assets, and training videos. We are NEVER more than a phone call or email away!

Will I receive training once I purchase a Beef Jerky Experience?

When opening your first location you will receive 1 - 2 hours per week for 8 weeks of virtual training. When you open, 1 - 2 members of our field team will meet you at your store for a few days before and after opening for in-person training. They will continue to provide support to keep you up-to-date with suggested retail strategies.

Where is the jerky made?

We have a taste and texture for everyone!

TENDER SMOKED: Our Tender Smoked style jerkies are made using a slightly thicker cut of meat and have a sweet-based marinade. The sugar base retains more moisture, which results in a more tender piece of jerky. The Tender Smoked jerkies flavors tend to be sweeter, but they also have that distinct, smoked flavor that so many people love! Our Cherry Maple Beef is our most popular Smoked jerky flavor.

TRADITIONAL: Our Traditional style jerkies are made using a dehydration process with a gluten free soy sauce base. Our Traditional jerky flavors tend to have a chewier, drier texture than the Smoked jerkies. Our most popular Traditional jerky is our Prime Rib!

CLASSIC: Our newest addition to our jerky collection, our Classic style jerkies have a texture between our Smoked and Traditional style jerky. Our Mango Habanero and Armageddon jerkies are our most popular Classic jerkies.

Is the jerky unique to the Beef Jerky Experience locations?

Yes, you can only find our private label jerky in our store location or on our website.

How many varieties of jerky to you carry?

We have over 100 different types, flavors, and sizes of jerky. Everything from mild to wild. Think of a flavor you’re craving and we probably have it!

Can customers sample the jerky before they make a purchase?

Our motto is: See it. Taste it. Share it. We hear our customers saying “YUM” on a daily basis! *Sampling will vary by store location.

How often is a new flavor released?

Our vendor team is always on the lookout for a new flavor or type of jerky. We aim to release 2-3 new flavors/types of jerky a year. We want our customers to come back to see “what’s new.”
